The elf on the shelf visited us for the first time in 2020 and had some awesome hiding spots giving the kids proof of Christmas magic everyday. Wish someone told me earlier about this Christmas secret!
Been loving the midnight laughter and giddy excitement waiting for them to wake up. Here’s some of the unique places they found Jingles in different rooms in our house.
Day 1: Elf wrote their names in m&ms and letter with elf on the shelf book.
The kids were excited to meet the elf on the shelf and named him “Jingles”. They ate chocolate first thing in the morning, and were on their best behavior ever since. They even cleaned the whole living room and brushed their teeth without me asking!
Day 2: Elf Treasure map on the ribbon below. Scavenger hunt to find their Advents calendars.
Day 3: Silly elf decorating the kitchen. And candy cane treat.
Day 4: Donut ⛄️⛄️⛄️
Day 4: Christmas list to mail to Santa
Day 5: Gifted us our 2020 Swarovski & Waterford ornaments (We’ve been collecting them every year since 2009). Kids got to open & hang them up.
Day 6: I’m watching you! 👀👀👀
Day 7: Christmas chains from Jingles. Enjoyed decorating the house for 🎅🏼. So easy to make & Kiddos loved it.
Day 8: Morning hot chocolate with Jingles. Extra marshmallows please…and of course chocolate.
Day 9: Candy cane zip lining. And treat from Santa for being so Nice.
Day 10: Donut 🍩 touch the elf. Krispy Kreme breakfast with Jingles.
Day 11: In the “Kids” Pooh bear🎄tree bearing treats. They were so surprised because we sleep in this room.
Day 12: Make snowflakes ❄️ with Jingles. Gisele in our kitchen dining room area that turned into our Christmas 🎄 room. Love our ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Day 13: Pancake breakfast with Jingles.
Day 14: Reindeers ❤️ carrots.
🥕🥕🥕 mission accomplished & reindeer lolli reward.
Day 15: Santa likes clean rooms… hint hint 😉 We call this their pirate 🏴☠️ toy room. It’s now clean 😁
Day 16: Jingles even surprised us in the truck with 🍩🍩🍩 and came along for the ride during an all day excursion.
Day 17: Jingles was a real “Party Pooper” during Brody’s December birthday party.
Day 18: Making melted ⛄️ cookies with Jingles.
Day 19: 🦌🛷 down the stairs
Day 20: Elfie snowball fight ☃️☃️ Then making cotton snowman crafts.
Day 21: Woke up to couch & toy boxes covered in Christmas lights. And jingles with Christmas lights necklace & bracelet gift.
Day 22: Christmas Eve goodbye letter & cookie decorating for Santa.
Matching Pajamas & other Christmas Eve fun. We left Santa & his reindeer some treats… Amalin is such a ham and always making her sister & brother laugh.
Christmas 2020 ♡
What a magical holiday this has been! The kids woke up super early so we started Christmas before the sun came up. They were all good kids and got sacks of presents from Santa. Broderick’s face is full of wonder looking at what Santa got him… while Gisele was quietly sneaking some of Santa’s cookies!! Then lots of FaceTime with family. Such good memories of a wonderful Christmas. I hope you all had a great Christmas too.
And now Christmas 2020 is a wrap (or unwrapped! 🙃). What a wonderful Christmas! The kids are at a perfect age, new house & new traditions.
